The group password is the shared secret used to encrypt and decrypt location data within the group. Everyone in the group uses the same password, and it is never sent to the server.

Your name

Identity phrase

Your name and identity phrase together determine your user identity in the group. Use the same pair on every device you want to appear as the same person. The phrase is never sent to the server and cannot be recovered.

The tracks on the map and the lines in the chart were recorded by PAIesque, a free Android app for training load and recovery. That is why this page shows a route on the map and a set of metrics in the chart and summary.

A browser peer in a group shares only its current location. That location is encrypted before it leaves the device, so the server that relays it cannot read it. The group password is what decrypts it, and it is never sent to the server.

You opened a public share. The sender chose to make this recording readable by anyone who has the link. Public shares are not encrypted.

PAIesque is offered through F-Droid and as a direct APK download (version 124) on the project page

PAIesque is not distributed on Google Play. Why? Publishing there requires a developer to register with a legal name, address, and government-issued photo ID, and to pay a fee. New personal developer accounts must also run a closed test with at least 20 testers for 14 days before an app can be released. In addition, Google Play Protect now shows warnings on many apps installed from F-Droid and from direct APK downloads, describing them as potentially harmful or built for an older version of Android, even when no specific problem is identified.

Server connection

This key identifies your browser to the server. The default guest key works for most viewers. A different key may grant higher poll rates, longer retention, or access to all public shares on the server.

Higher limits may be available with a different key.
